The new FW 25-26 collection from Anteprima, born from the collaboration between designer Izumi Ogino and contemporary Japanese artist Izumi Kato, is a fusion of fashion and art. In continuity with SS25, the FW 25-26 color palette is enriched with autumn and winter tones: natural greens and browns intertwine with sand/khaki, winter yellow, and rustic camel, while deep tones of cherry lacquer and deep purple add a mysterious touch. Beige and light pink, in contrast, evoke sweetness and nostalgia, completing a palette that invites reflection and emotion.

The collection focuses on oversized and unisex silhouettes. Starting with the alpaca-blend sweater, which incorporates motifs from Kato’s works, such as mandarin ducks and alien faces, it is a perfect example of wearable art. Izumi Kato, born in 1969 in Shimane, Japan, is an internationally renowned contemporary artist known for his enigmatic and otherworldly figures that blend human and spiritual elements. A graduate of Musashino Art University in 1992, Kato began his career as a painter before expanding into sculpture, using materials such as wood, stone, and soft vinyl. His works, characterized by infantile yet mystical beings with elongated limbs and unsettling gazes, evoke a primal and universal connection with nature and the subconscious. Kato’s creations explore themes of abstraction and concreteness, presenting embryonic alien creatures floating in liminal spaces. These empty spaces, as well as the images themselves, are rich with meaning, without the need for additional context. Kato’s work is widely recognized for its raw and intuitive energy, capable of evoking a deep cultural resonance. He has exhibited internationally, including at the Venice Biennale in 2007, earning a prominent place in the contemporary art scene.
