For more than 260 years, Lanson has blended heritage and savoir-faire in their creations, with the Black Création serving as their signature.
As one of the oldest Champagne houses in France, founded in 1760 by François Delamotte and inspired by Jean-Baptiste Lanson, Lanson places great importance on their traditional champagne, epitomizing elegance and tradition. Hervé Dantan joined as Cellar Master in 2013, enhancing Lanson’s heritage by redesigning production, refining savoir-faire, and developing new cultural practices for precision in blends. He redefined Le Black Label with Le Black Création, numbering each Création according to the blends made since 1760.
Le Black Création
The Single-Parcel Approach emphasizes the diversity of Champagne’s terroirs, as exemplified by Le Black Création. Lanson ensures meticulous grape selection with committed viticulture practices, including close proximity to vineyards and a thorough understanding of terroirs. Non-malolactic fermentation preserves the wine’s vitality and aromatic richness. Additionally, the technical challenge of blending this traditional method with some malolactic fermentation creates diverse wine profiles. The Black-Label line exports 65% of its production.
